I just saw this bug report. Please report bugs upstream in the future. Does this issue still occur with the latest version of tilda?

Just tested on daily Xubuntu 18.04.

Issue no longer occurring there.

Not sure if testing Xubuntu instead of Ubuntu makes a difference in this case?
