Bug Description

trying to use Xvnc with XDMCP to allow remote use of compute server

command line (run as user xxxx):

su -c 'Xvnc -query localhost -once -geometry 1280x1024 -rfbauth /home/xxxx/.vnc/passwd :2' xxxx

windows (XP) vncviewer - tried tightvnc, ultravnc and the original vnc4, all same behaviour give or take a few seconds/clicks

repeat by
fire up Xvnc as above
fire up your vncviewer and connect (vnc authentication required)
login with gdm
run four in a row from the applications/games menu
see how many counters you can place before the server exits

package versions should have been collected by ubuntu-bug

FWIW
had same problem with 9.10 with tightvnc and vnc4 servers
9.10 tightvnc seemed more robust than vnc4
upgrade to 10.4 beta does not seem to fix

Likely this is a result of 64-bit problems in the X server for tightvnc-1.3.9. If you can grab / build 1.3.10 source from sourceforge project, it may clear that up. Or, possibly grab 1.3.9 source package and try to apply patch
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2570977&group_id=14067&atid=314067 and then build.
