Thunderbird has mangled my messages with parts of existing messages making it impossible to communicate further.

Bug Description
As of today all incoming messages in Thunderbird are mixed with parts of existing messages. I issued a REINDEX command which appeared to work, however the problem remains. I hate to lose a few years of mail, but it seems a complete reinstallation may be due. :-(
