"Include an attachment" tooltip appears over file chooser window and does not ever disappear

Bug Description

There seems to be a race condition around the tooltip for "Include an attachment." If you click on the Add Attachment button before the tooltip appears, but presumably as it's being prepared, the tooltip shows over top of the modal file chooser window, and over top of any other application. If the tooltip is already showing when you click on Add Attachment, this does not occur.

This does not appear to be specific to Unity or compiz, as I've run metacity --replace and reproduced this same behaviour.

Chris, I think it's enough to file this upstream and then unassign you. Thanks!

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu and Thunderbird since that time.

Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) reached end-of-life on May 9, 2013.

Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported using currently supported versions of Thunderbird and Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do and in which version of Ubuntu otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
