Changing font settings are ineffective

When changing font settings (Preferences -> Display -> Fonts -> Advanced) - when I change those settings and select different fonts are use the checkboxes, the settings don't stay when I close the dialog box. I then go back to the Advanced Fonts dialog and the original settings are there and not the ones I selected.

Check if you aren't trying to select an .otf font, thunderbird seems to not support those. You may install a .ttf font and try to select it, to see if it will work.

This was happening with ttf fonts too.

Unable to reproduce with Thunderbird 60.9 (bionic) or 68.1.2 (eoan).

With no comments for over 8 years this issue was probably resolved a long time ago and this bug report can now be closed. Changing status to "Incomplete" to allow this report to expire in the absence of any further comments to confirm that the bug still exists.
