Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunderbird

I am logged in under a KDE session. Starting thunderbird via KDE-console/shell yields the following assertion error:

(thunderbird-bin:19460): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_hash_table_insert_internal: assertion `hash_table != NULL' failed

After closing thunderbird this assertion error appears:
(thunderbird-bin:19460): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

The application itself seems to run properly, although I'm not sure whether it's luck or determination.

$ apt-cache policy thunderbird

This bug does seem to be related to KDE - if I do the same in an 'Ubuntu Classic'-session everything works fine and no assertion error is printed in the shell.

Hope this will help...

On KDE4.6.5 Kubuntu 11.04, I get the same error for a while now.
Just found that this happens to me if SystemSettings->AppAppearance->GTK+Appearance->Widget style = oxygen-gtk
Also, all gtk apps will start with this error but run fine.

Workaround:
SystemSettings->AppAppearance->GTK+Appearance->Widget style = QtCurve

Update:

On KDE 4.7.2 Kubuntu 11.10, I do not see this issue anymore.
SystemSettings->AppAppearance->GTK+Appearance->Widget style = oxygen-gtk
works fine.
