Hello Ajenbo,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.

You made this bug report in 2010 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect BUGNUMBER

and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.

Hello gf
I no longer have this issue in 16.04. But instead of creating a file it create a .desktop file that points to the actual imap address for the email. This is fairly useless.

cat 'fetch>UID>.INBOX>51577.desktop'
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Henvisning til fetch>UID>.INBOX>51577
Type=Link
URL=imap://some%40email%<email address hidden>:993/fetch%3EUID%3E.INBOX%3E51577
Icon=text-html

Hello Ajenbo,
Thank you for the update. You are right that a link file on the desktop, rather than the actual file, is not helpful. Do you want me to proceed with the ticket, then? Next step for me would be to confirm it (I have replicated it) and then create a linked ticket with Mozilla who maintain it.
Do you want to proceed?

Thanks and have a great day!
