Yes, did that.

Well, I disabled it in mail.server.default.use_condstore - there is no ...use_condstore setting for the account, so I guess Seamonkey doesn't implement it per account - or should I just create the setting?

Unfortunately that'll have to wait for another day.
But testing a few more times I discovered that it actually does work, just only every second time - i.e. I have to do "offline>online>other folder>back to folder>offline>online>other folder>back to folder" before it updates.
