Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Running thunderbird& from a console and then trying to use that console is hard because of all the error and warning messages that are emitted to the console while the app is running. These errors are also not logged to ~/.xsession-errors where one would expect to find them. Example of typical error content on my PC (some messages probably belong at least in part to lightning - should I report that separatey?):

Writing MailMessage to file. Subject: free stuff

This appears to be a lightning issue, not a ubuntu specific one. I am also seeing it on Thunderbird 3 which I built from source.

Hello Vik,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.

You made this bug report in 2009 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 487983

and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.

G
