Binary package hint: thunderbird
Since I'v updated
thunderbird (2.0.0.22+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu2) to 2.0.0.22+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu3 ,
Thunderbird freezes when "Play a sound" is enabled.
To reproduce:
1: Enable "Play a sound" , from thunderbird preferences
2: Play a video clip in vlc[selected output module is ALSA]
3: now when the message arrives , thunderbird freezes.
ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
Date: Sat Aug 8 00:24:28 2009
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10
Package: thunderbird 2.0.0.22+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu3
ProcEnviron:
LANG=en_IN
SHELL=/bin/bash
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-5.24-generic
SourcePackage: thunderbird
Uname: Linux 2.6.31-5-generic i686 |

When vlc is playing [uses ALSA audio output]
opening gstreamer-properties , and testing pulseaudio gives no sound and no error , is just says "Click OK to finish"
once this happens[thunderbird freeze] sound does not play in any other app which uses pulse audio.
repeated $pulseaudio -k restores sound
This was not a problem before the latest pulse audio updates.

Why i'v filled this in thunderbird is because , other apps also are affected by this but they dont freeze like thunderbird.
