Bug Description
Binary package hint: thunderbird
I've seen this bug in several versions os thunderbird. I configure my account to use a X509 certificate to sign an encrypt messages. I write a message and select sign it but no encrypt it but when I try to send the message thunderbird shows a error alert. I have to delete certificate on encrypt configuration to sign the message. If i have the recipient certificate I can send the signed message (and encrypted too) but i think it's no neccesary to have recipient's certificate to sign a message. If I have only a few recipient's certificates I have to modify configuration each time I want to send a signed or encrypted message.

Hello Ouro.
Thanks for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2008 regarding Thunderbird and there have been several versions of Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket? Or, if it is still a problem, could you come to Launchpad and make a comment to that effect?
Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.
