Bug Description

On Ubuntu 22.04

If thunderbird snap is the default emailer:

Right click on a file on the desktop, "send to" opens thunderbird for a new mail but without the attachment

Doing the same from files opens the mail to be sent with the attachment (the file on the desktop)

Using Ubuntu 22.10 I find the opposite is true: It works from the desktop but fails from Files (right click and then Email..)

What version of Ubuntu are you using?

Changed in gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-ng (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete

On mantic the situation is different because nautilus uses the email portal now which add attachments by crafting a mailto: url, which thunderbird doesn't handle, see https://github.com/flatpak/xdg-desktop-portal-gtk/pull/447

I can confirm that "drop support for "Send file" via E-mail from file managers" would be a very very sad news for users
