Bug Description

Ever since Ubuntu moved back to Gnome from Unity, it's impossible to minimize the Thunderbird Lightning reminder window. It's really annoying, the window is always on top of Thunderbird and has to be constantly moved around to use the program.

Closing the window makes no sense as a) it tends to start syncing the events with reminders, which can show conflict prompts requiring even more work from the user and b) the window comes back very quickly. So, minimize makes the most sense.

I can confirm that when using the unity session, the reminder window can be minimized, whereas in the stock (GNOME) Ubuntu session, it cannot, and it remains on top of the main thunderbird window.

Thanks for the report Dominik. Would you mind filing an upstream bug at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi#h=dupes%7CCalendar, and sharing the link to it here?

Do you really think it’s an issue with TB and not the window manager? Before I reported the bug here I looked at this bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1271097 and it looks like the reminder window can or cannot be minimised depending on where it’s running (it can in Unity, apparently Windows, it can’t in Gnome and MATE). So... it’s WM dependent?

I am also affected by this bug, which is particularly annoying. Is there any info that I can provide to debug it?

Me too and it's really annoying cause it always has the focus and covers all the other windows.
No solution so far?

FWIW it works fine on KDE: the reminder can be minimized and put behind the main TB window.
