After having updated thunderbird to version 2.0.0.8 it still contains the old 2.0.0.6 version:

I can confirm this on a up to date gutsy installation

With Thunderbird 2.0.0.12 this little problem is gone:

$ thunderbird --version
 Thunderbird 2.0.0.12, Copyright (c) 1998-2008 mozilla.org
