Bug Description

GNOME seems to randomly corrupt fonts. The glyphs are corrupted consistently for a session but if I logout and log back in different ones will be corrupted. It also seems to be affected by the zoom level. See http://askubuntu.com/questions/626568/corrupted-fonts for screenshots. Chromium doesn't seem to be affected by this.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1468017/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

I have reported this against thunderbird but this problem seems to occur on any GNOME/GTK app (e.g. thunderbird, firefox, terminal, Pdgin, etc.)

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported in a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do and in which version of Ubuntu otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
