Bob added the following comment to Launchpad bug report 1347305: What's pissing me off about this? Is how you all lack souls, and somehow I've got to do the obvious goddamn complaining/fighting/etc that none of you have even seemed to want to bother with. Tell mozilla to fuck itself, switch to something else. Why do I have to be an asshole to stand up for your shit? If we all did, mozilla would have some working "contact us" links and actually give an option to go back to the old way if we didn't like the new crap. God forbid they think of the user. *But they really would if we went and burned down their offices all over the world*. Or even if enough of us wrote them shitty emails. Harder, I know, with bad input fields -- but hey, try. *TRY*. I dare you. Suffice they couldn't be contacted directly -- you have to know where you're contacting/the place nearest me wasn't a support site -- I dunno where they do their support. You have to end up studying the company layout to send in a damn complaint? Fuck that. And so the mozillaspace crap gets the mail -- bet they don't even read them. And that seems the goal lately, no big web company takes email -- hell, read my letter to them/have fun. Soulless fucks, ANY of you could have bitched/switched/*anything*. The USER is what makes the product have meaning. To forget the user is folly -- unless the user's too stupid to remind anyone... ----- Didn't I write last week about you fucking up firefox? And the fucking stupidity of a "contact us" page that then puts us a selector for WHERE we want to write? If Mozilla wasn't a WEB company being contact on the WEB I might give a shit where the complaint department was located. You don't tell us. But you *do* expect us to pick where that is. ork there, one wouldprobably know -- How the fuck are we supposed to know? I've only recently noticed -- has it been half a year -- what the fuck happened to the form-inputs for email in thunderbird? They look faded/greyed out/*don't follow goddamn windows standards*. And while I've just read several pages of folk bitching about it, CSS fixes, etc -- I don't wanna go get CSS fixes. And hope they work. And test, and check, and tweak, and... *fuck that*. I wanted my email with working textinput boxes. That didn't look like they were just lined paper because *you* decided you don't like textboxes (advice: don't use computers, we'd prefer this even). What pisses me off about these support pages? I've yet to see ONE person hit the real problem... YOU CHANGED IT WITHOUT GODDAMN ASKING, WITHOUT CONSULTING, or most importantly, WITHOUT MAKING IT A FUCKING OPTION. Want some examples about how that is bad? Let's see if I can think of a few... COKE changing to NEW COKE and the *FUCKING WORLD SHUTTING DOWN OVER IT*. They wanted what they loved, not other shit from the people that made what they loved. STAR WARS -- Pick a change on that one, lucas has been worse than you'll ever be. But Han Solo is a "good guy" so he can't shoot first? He was a smuggler, a criminal, idiots thinking bad guys wear black and good guys wear white pissed in that movie. Those movies -- who's ultimate moral seems to be that you can be a tyranical asshole babykiller most of your life and then redeem yourself in the last seconds and end up being the only one in the afterlife who's young and vibrant looking. More fun/better looks for-forever? Not a bad deal, overall... GOOGLE and YOU -- *Quit fucking changing things without an option*. (As a mere single example out of so many) Wanna ad shitty red and black to the blue and white google interface? Great, give us *styles* to pick from -- some might want pink and lavender, make "faggot google" a dropdown option/let us *all* have what we want. If I wasn't happy with what was already there I'd have gone to Bing before. I know how to work about:config -- even in thunderbird. So why isn't there some boolean to toggle to turn this bullshit off? Never did find it. Nobody's discussing it. Nobody even seems to question why you made a major look/feel/user-interface-affecting change without discussing it with the users or letting them have an option to turn it off. *Go look at the web* -- mozilla, it *was your web* -- for the number of stupid goddamn "classic theme" type addons out there. People do NOT want this bullshit you're doing. And you'd even know this if you gave a fuck -- *great* rule of thumb for any company -- click their "contact us" link. See where it goes. If a web company's sending you to a list to pick *where* you want to talk to them? They don't seem that web oriented. Should be a goddamn form distribution setup is in place, write about one type of thing and it goes to the office that handles that. Instead I'm stuck writing "mozillaspaces" as there's nothing else obvious to click. But hey, that beats google, craig's list, etc, they won't even read your shit *at all*. Which, no, let's be honest, nobody's gonna read this at all either. But that's the point -- the reason -- *fuck you guys*. Outlook was feeling a lil' more cutting-edge when I used it at work *and* the address input boxes didn't piss me off. And that was more around a year ago/before you fucked up your client -- to copy them? -- I dunno. Work used old crap anyway. But I'm now pissed at your product, *and you*, *AGAIN*, for complicating my life with stupid bullshit. A little check box of "show input boxes" was all I needed to not look at that thing and want to growl EVERY FUCKING TIME I send outgoing mail. Since I can't enjoy your client? I 'll go find a different one to enjoy. And for the record? I couldn't understand it when I was a kid -- New coke *was* better. Only I never thought it possible they were quitting the old coke/that point hit me only once explained (I was 5? Somethin'). Han Shot first, and should have, I would have were I in his shoes. Everyone's either old or young in the afterlife, really it should probably be "by choice" but no old fart gets so comfortable with being an old fart that they'd rather be running around bent over a walking stick with an impotent dick instead of being young and vibrant. Even if you have to look like that dopey prequel fuck. Google's white and blue? Part of it was that "simplicity is amazing" and it was so simple and so useful. Red and black should be added -- for knifewounds and bleeding as they cut their own throat. An adorable search engine decided to be everything, change/grow/absorb, and apparently still hasn't bothered to buy a company with a working "contact us" link so we can tell them about how absolute power corrupts. Firefox? I was here damn near from day one. Thunderbird? Lil' later/not long after. In both cases, if my computer dies, I know I'm totally fucked -- there's so many goddamn theme-restoration tweaks, addons, about:config hack entries, etc, put into my shit that I will *NEVER* possibly get the same setup if I have to start over. Thunderbird alone's mentioned on upgrade before that it's changed several things, do I wanna alter/not, 3-4 notions that I wasn't even really sure what they were. I kept my old stuff, what worked worked. But the new crap out of the box? Might be superior. Didn't get to try both. Sure as hell won't like reinstalling/not having what I thought I was installing. So I'm pondering other browsers/email clients -- For a while mozilla was upgrading slowly -- good, their shit worked/it wasn't needed -- then they started getting flack for lack of updates -- we got a weekly patch to change the version number and nothing else as far as I could tell, most times. Which started making it really fucking naggy nagware. And maybe folk picked up on that too -- because now we can't have text input boxes for (get this) *text input*. Or the option to change back off really fucking stupid changes. Follow some goddamn programming standards you *ASSHOLES*. It was IE 4 not following HTML standards that got me on Netscape Communicator, followed by Firefox. You're fucking shit up with no config option, and my complain is that text input can't be done via proper text input? That if I ever did try to reinstall all these constant un-change changes I've had to add I'd probably never remember them all? The *obvious* result is that I'm not gonna goddamn try. Next reinstall will be Outlook. It's not like my shit's not on Gmail/I'll lose nothing anyway. Except the headache of dealing with your ass. -- http://launchpad.net/bugs/1347305
