Update not working correctly

-> Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit <-

After regular update from Thunderbird 24.5.0 to 24,6.0 I had following issues:
- No proper localisation i.e., I had to manually activate the language from addons manager and restart.
- All open tabs were lost.
Before processing the update, my Thunderbird was propperly closed.

Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.

You made this bug report in 2014 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect BUGNUMBER

and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

I still have this problem with current 16.04.
apport-collect BUGNUMBER doesn't complete, I have to stop it with Crtl+C :

The first step would be for me to try to reproduce this bug on my computer, if I can. I have several versions of TB installed.

Could you give me specific steps to reproduce these two problems?

When you mention "all tabs were lost," could you describe the tabs? Are they email messages that you have open?

The local language is German.

There are no specific steps to do, I just have to run the automatic Ubuntu update.

I attach session.json for to see the open tabs before update. After update, some of the tabs are lost.

Thanks for the screenshot, UlfZibis. In consultation with one of the Ubuntu bug team members, it appears that you are using a Thunderbird add-on called "Thunderbrowse"

The Thunderbrowse website is here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/thunderbrowse/

Unfortunately, it appears that the add-on is no longer maintained and was last updated for Thunderbird version 16, back in 2012.

As an alternative, the current version of Firefox will allow you to keep specific tabs open all the time. I use this feature constantly. When I open Firefox, my regular 9 tabs come up automatically every time. Would you like me to show you how to do that?
