Bug Description
When deleting a message, a pop-up window appears asking you whether to "Compact all folders to save disk space?". And there is an option nearby "Always ask me before compacting folders automatically". If you choose "Cancel' at that the option is unchecked, Thunderbird asks you the same question after restarting session nevertheless.

Hello Mike,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2012 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect BUGNUMBER

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.
G
