Unresponsiveness appears to be increasing as svg file size gets bigger. 8MB is really slow compared to other file managers like for example Dolphin.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10
Package: thunar 1.2.3-0ubuntu1
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-13.21~lp844957v1-generic 3.0.6

ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4
Architecture: amd64
Date: Mon Nov 21 22:56:19 2011
InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Release amd64 (20111012)
 PATH=(custom, no user)
SourcePackage: thunar
UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)

i can second this - i have Thunar 1.2.3, xubuntu 11.10, AMD64, Inkscape 0.48.2 r9819

just hovering (no mouse click at all) over a 7 MegaByte .svg file causes Thunar to lock while taking a whole CPU tread for about 50 seconds.

this does not happen with Nautilus, it does NOT happen for a 23 K file.

happy holidays.

on a system that is much the same as the AMD64 described above EXCEPT that it is i386 there is NO PROBLEM.

i was wrong about i386 being unaffected. i now have this problem on i386.

I have the same problem with thunar. Clicking , or just passing over the thumbnail of a .svg file of some Mb makes the system freeze (30--> less than a minute)
