Thunar UI stalling, not completing refresh since LTS upgrade to 22.04

Bug Description
My system was built on Xubuntu 20.04.1
Recently I LTS upgraded it to Xubuntu 22.04.
Since that LTS upgrade, Thunar locks up / freezes / gets stuck refreshing to display the next directory I asked it to display. The progress icon in the corner just keeps spinning.
I must kill the "Thunar --daemon" PID, which causes the Thunar window to disappear, reopen Thunar, then it can successfully navigate to the same folder it got stuck on.
Usually these folders are out on our Samba server. I use Samba mounts to local filesystem folders. I think of it as the Linux equivalent of mapping drive letters in the DOS / Windows world.
