Thunar app no longer shows on Activities (Start) Menu

Bug Description

Under groovy, Thunar no longer shows on Activities (Start) Menu, nor can be added to Favorites.
As a workaround, I copied /usr/share/applications/thunar.desktop to ~/.local/share/applications/.

Could it be some issue with the way .desktop files are/remained from previous installations?
