Bug Description

Hi,

First, thanks for the amazing job you are doing !

I searched if it was possible to set colors individually to files / folders names background on Thunar, but couldn't find it.

Does it exist ? If not, it was "whispered" to me by someone who find it really useful to classify files (and got the idea from Mac ;) ).

It does look like this (on Mac, sorry, sorry...) :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WC-QJnskOEA in video
or
https://cdn.tutsplus.com/mac/authors/legacy/Josh%20Johnson/2012/07/13/findertips-4.jpg on a screenshot

Could it be an enhancement ?

Have a nice day and thanks again !

Ben

PS : I also posted this on this website, as I didn't knew if it is specific to XFCE or not. If not, I will erase the other link. (https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13470)

Or maybe, I should delete it here as it is an enhancement and not a bug...

Sorry for the late reply!

For costom backgrounds in thunar try this tutorial:

If there should be problems, please reopen this bug! ( Or first use some search engine )

Regarding the feature-request "colored file labels". For sure possible, looks nice.
However alot of work required to add such a thing. So due to a lack of manpower not in sight for the near future. Please open a separate bug for it !

... if you want to speed up the process ... patches are always welcome !

reopened, since there seems to be some demand. Even if there is no manpower to implement such a feature curently, duplicates can be closed against this bug

Well, if you dont want to use the workaround, I am sorry.

Thunar does not have such a feature currently.

I reopened an old request for this feature and will close this one as duplicate.

Well, then why was the 'changes the emblem' section of the folder added if this section does not work at all? How did you start working on it, yes?

@Kirill Afonin
Your bug was about the "color of a folder", not about emblems.
Emblems work fine for me .. they dont work for you ? If so, please open a separate bug for it.
