To those interested in testing the proposed Thunar 1.6.11 but don't know how to build the package from the source code: I've created a PPA here:

https://launchpad.net/~yuri-sucupira/+archive/ubuntu/thunar1.6.11-proposed

Just follow the instructions there and see if the new version runs smoothly.
