I can reproduce this bug but its slightly different. While drag and drop does not crash thunar using the clipboard does. Thunar terminates itself with a segmentation fault:

(thunar:11802): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid uninstantiatable type '(null)' in cast to 'GObject'

(thunar:11802): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set_qdata: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
Segmentation fault
