Bug Description

Environment:

Xubuntu 18.04 20180313 live CD

$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu Bionic Beaver (development branch)
Release: 18.04

$ apt-cache policy engrampa
engrampa:
  Installed: 1.20.0-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 1.20.0-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 1.20.0-0ubuntu1 500
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/universe amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Steps to reproduce:

1) Create an archive -
  a) Open Thunar to /usr/share/backgrounds . Select all.
  b) Right-click > Create archive. Set Filename to "abc" and Location to Documents
  c) Click "Create"

2) Open a Thunar window to ~/Documents

3) Open a second Thunar window to the home directory

4) Right-click+drag the "abc.tar.gz" from the Documents window to the home directory window, and click "Extract here".

Expected results:
There should be a folder "abc" in the home directory, containing the extracted contents of the archive.

Actual results:
The "abc" folder is in ~/Documents.

Some investigation shows that Thunar is running this command -

engrampa --extract-to=/home/xubuntu --extract-here --force /home/xubuntu/Documents/abc.tar.gz

Running it manually in Terminal produces the same result.

Looks to me like this is a Thunar problem. From man engrampa it looks like this is expected behavior while using the --extract-here option.

Changed in engrampa (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
halogen2 (halogen2)
affects: thunar (Ubuntu) → thunar-archive-plugin (Ubuntu)
