Bug Description

Some thrift commands return exit code 1 (eg, thrift, thrift -version).

Issue seen on Ubuntu server boxes (16.04).

thrift-compiler:
  Installed: 0.9.1-2
  Candidate: 0.9.1-2
  Version table:
