Thinkfinger acquires/verifies, but doesn't authenticate

This bug is related to 8.10. I was able to acquire and verify my fingerprint on a T61 laptop and each opportunity to use my fingerprint, it prompts for finger swipe, but does nothing. This worked fine in 8.04

On my system (thinkpad R60, Ubuntu 8.0 beta) authentication (at least sudo) via thinkfinger works BUT you have to press enter after swiping your finger (which makes the whole process rather annoying).

relevant lines in my /etc/pam.d/common-auth look like this:
auth sufficient pam_thinkfinger.so
auth [success=1 default=ignore] pam_unix.so try_first_pass nullok_secure

thx polpotak. This does seem to be the case. I can now use thinkfinger in gdm again too.

Is there a way to avoid the need for the enter pressing?

I have the same problem (I have T61). I have to press Enter after swiping. That's stupid and i don't know why it doesn't work as in Hardy.

After creating an xorg.conf file and modifying /etc/pam.d/common-auth,, pressing return is no longer necessary.

However, the fingerprint scanner just plain does not work with some things, gnome-screensaver and gksudo being two of them.

This is with an up to date ubuntu 8.10 install on a Lenovo X61 tablet.
