Bug Description

After installing Texmaker, the spell check functionality doesn't work because the dictionary file isn't present. If one opens Options -> Configure Texmaker -> Editor then there is a link to download the dictionary, but that is not clear from the error message.

This functionality should be installed by default. At a minimum, there should be a dialog that says something to the effect of "You don't have a dictionary file yet, click here to get one."

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue , in the default Ubuntu 10.04 install , that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of the project.

We only accept paper cuts for applications that are a part of the default Ubuntu installation. Texmaker is not and therefore bugs in Texmaker are not suitable paper cut candidates.
For further info about papercuts criteria, please read <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut>.

Don't worry though, This bug has been marked as "invalid" ONLY in the papercuts project. I'm opening a new task for the texmaker package in Ubuntu because it still might be a valid bug.

I didn't realize I was submitting the bug to the wrong place. My apologies for not looking at the criteria more carefully. Thank you for placing it appropriately.

Well, obviously texmaker can't depend on ALL languages, it recommends an endlish dictionary. This is how most application do it. It's not a bug.
