Bug Description

Binary package hint: texmaker

After the Autocompletion activates a menu pops up... Then as we keep typing unmatched options get ruled out... this works fine unless there are special characters like [,{ are in the sequence....

so if I want to type \textsc{} initially in the pop up the options are "textsc, textsl, textttt, etc" and as we keep i typing the other options keep vanishing and finally we are left only with \textsc :). Which is good expected behavior.

but if we want type \begin{theorem}

The pop comes with lots of options but just when we cross the { barrier while typing everything vanishes!!!!

This effectively makes Autocomplete useless in most of the scenarios!!!!

I agree. It's a major hindrance to have to type out statements like \begin{equation}...\end{equation} repeatedly.

Another problem with autocompletion is if you type a command inside the brackets of another command
ex. \frac{ \vec{y} }{ z }
it doesn't attempt to autocomplete that command.

Yes, this is so annoying. Texmaker is useless because of this.

I can confirm this is fixed in ubuntu 10.04 when using the 3.0.2-2~natty1 package from natty-backports (which didn't install automatically through apt-get for me for some strange reason)

yes, it mostly works now, except there are still some small problems e.g. if you want to have \begin{align*} \end{align*}

"\end{align*}" does not appear automatically... however it works fine for \begin{align} \end{align}

Keywords ending with * are still lil bit problematic
