script assumes that /bin/sh is bash

Bug Description

Binary package hint: texmacs

The maxima_detect assumes that /bin/sh is bash. Since that isn't true in Ubuntu 6.10, the script doesn't work. I suggest that it call /bin/bash, since that tends to actually be bash.

Hi,

Which versions of Ubuntu and texmacs are you using? Also, what error message do you get?

I'm using Ubuntu 6.10 for amd64. The texmacs deb shows as version "1:1.0.6-8".

Thanks but can you outline the steps required to re-create the error?

Nat Tuck (nat-ferrus) wrote :

1.) apt-get install texmacs maxima
2.) Run texmacs
3.) File -> New
4.) Insert -> Session -> Maxima

At that point it'll insert something that isn't a maxima session and complain about "package 'maxima' not declared".
