calligra font missing from texlive-fonts-extra

Bug #137640 reported by frotz on 2007-09-05
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
texlive-extra (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

In aptitude(8), when viewing the texlive-fonts-extra package, "calligra" is listed as one of the fonts available in this package. However, this font is not actually installed.

According to, the following latex input should work, but instead I get complaints that calligra.sty is not found. A workaround can be done by manually putting calligra.sty,, and in the current directory or somewhere where LaTeX can find them.

This is a test of a calligraphy font.

I cannot confirm this, dlocate calligra gives me the mf and the tfm
files. Which version of texlive-fonts-extra are you using?

This file works perfectly for me, no problem. Only that you should
remove that useless pdftex option.

Best wishes

The last message mentioned texlive-latex-extra 2005.dfsg.3-1. The version of texlive seems to be outdated. On my system calligra was properly installed with texlive-fonts-extra 2007.dfsg.1-1, mf and tfm file are on my system.
Please provide more information regarding your OS and texlive version or perhaps if the problem was solved by updating.
