Bug Description

Adding

    stack_size = 5000 % simultaneous input sources

to `/etc/texmf/texmf.d/95NonPath.cnf` and invoking `sudo update-texmf` causes output

    Ignoring /etc/texmf/texmf.d/95NonPath.cnf during generation of texmf.cnf, please remove manually!

which is not possible to understand from `man update-texmf`. It might be that the file is ignored because of an error as well. It is generally not a good idea to provide any feedback with a cause! The output should allow more intuitive actions to be taken.
