Confirm that this needs doing, the beta version installed in Bionic (18.04) is flawed, for instance running for orientation (--psm 0) gives segmentation fault. Installing stable 4.0.0 (using ppa https:/ /launchpad. net/~alex- p/+archive/ ubuntu/ tesseract- ocr) gets rid of this problem.
