Ubuntu 20.04 drag and drop crashes

Draging and dropping a file in terminator doesn't work on ubunu 20.04. It was on previous LTS versions. It is working on the gnome terminal however.
Seems to be fixed in newer versions, see here

This bug is still present in Ubuntu 20.04 even if it was fixed long ago upstream. What's blocking ? Any way I can help ?

Guillaume Doisy, yes, for filing an SRU several things are needed:

 1. The specific patch to fix it (which you've suggested is likely https://github.com/gnome-terminator/terminator/commit/808a6aa91c4bbdd3ff0259773c1a6ea0deddf28b.patch, which I'm attaching here.)

 2. Exact steps to reproduce the crash.

 3. Example of the output from the crash
    - e.g. from running terminator via xterm,
    - or alternatively see the /var/crash/*.crash file

I'm not reproducing a crash by drag and dropping. (I do experience another terminator crash but seems to not be related to this one.)
