Notifications should not stack up when I am using the Messaging app

I've just finished a conversation via SMS and when I was finished, there were a tonne of notifications stacked up about the conversation I had just had.

Expected:
Because I had the messaging app open texting "Patricia", I sholud get no notifications of sms messages from her.

Actual:
Every time "Patricia" texts me, I get the message _and_ a notification.

weird, I've never seen that happened nor mentioned before. Does it happen all the time for you?

Hi Sebastion,

I've only noticed it now (OTA-5), but I'll keep an eye on it and make sure
it's a regular thing and not just a one-off. I'll update the bug here as
soon as I can.
