Bug Description

Binary package hint: telepathy-salut

I am not sure if this is the right package to report this against, but the People Nearby accounts will not let me send messages, and I can't test to see if I can receive them because the other machine I own is running the same setup as this one. When I type the message and hit enter to send around 20 seconds later it says in the window unable to send message.

Nope; the only firewall in the network is the one built in to the router, and it hasn't given me trouble on previous versions of the software.

I have symptoms like you, but my problem is described in #572824.

Additionally I change my /etc/default/avahi-daemon:

# 1 = Try to detect unicast dns servers that serve .local and disable avahi in
# that case, 0 = Don't try to detect .local unicast dns servers, can cause
# troubles on misconfigured networks
AVAHI_DAEMON_DETECT_LOCAL=0
