Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

Release: Ubuntu 10.04
Package Version: 2.30.1-0ubuntu1

I just had MSN disconnect for whatever reason and Empathy handled it very poorly.

- I was disconnected (netstat confirmed this, no MSN connections)
- the MSN contacts were still displayed as online and there was no notice about it being disconnected
- closing and restarting Empathy did not reconnect, yet the MSN contacts were still displayed as online (Empathy was indeed closed, not minimized to tray)
- all my messages to MSN contacts were simply dropped without any errors. They show in the log, but were never sent

What I expect to happen:
1. Empathy should automatically reconnect
2. Empathy should show an error message when sending a message failed

not all the time but it happens to me too and its not a bug of empathy. the simple solution for me was sudo pkill mission and everything came back to normal
