Messaging menu does not show new messages for empathy.

Bug Description

New accounts and guest sessions are not effected, only users who have a current setup experience this issue.

Version 0.3.0-0ubuntu2 is broken while 0.3.0-0ubuntu1 works for everybody.

Steps to verify:

1) Login to a session that already has an IM account setup in ubuntu online accounts
2) ensure the messaging menu is displayed and there is a pip (little marker) next to "Empathy" in the messaging menu
