Bug Description
Binary package hint: telepathy-butterfly
Source Package: empathy -> /usr/bin/empathy
1) I'm using Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat 10.10 Release Candidate (amd64).
2) apt-cache policy empathy
empathy:
Instalados: 2.32.0-0ubuntu1
Candidato: 2.32.0-0ubuntu1
Tabla de versión:
*** 2.32.0-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://
100 /var/lib/
3) I expected to be able to chat with gtalk without an error appearing before me telling me that something crashed, and i was expecting to not have to look in internet how someone partially fixed this with the solution i describe below
4) This error happens when i log in into empathy. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with gtalk. I only have 2 accounts added, gtalk and MSN, and i tried removing gtalk and this error didn't appear.
I configured gtalk account selecting googletalk in the list of services and adding my address and password, that didn't let me log in into gtalk so i changed this under the advanced section:
Require TLS/SSL (unchecked)
Ignore SSL certificates errors (unchecked)
Resource: talk.google.com
Priority: 0
Server: talk.google.com
Port: 5222
Use older SSL: (unchecked)
Under this configuration i can use gtalk and chat with other contacts, but it throws this error when i log in. After the error i still can chat in gtalk but that error it's happening for some reason.
