Bug Description

Binary package hint: tasque

I haven't found an option to hide the notification area icon. According to the GNOME HIG, there should be one — tasque does not notify me about anything most of the time, so the icon is useless and it only clutters my notification area.

That bug report is actually the exact opposite of mine; people there want to have the notification icon, but don't want to see the main window. I want the notification icon to only be visible when tasque wants to actually notify me about something.

This bug seems to be deprecated with the introduction of application indicators and the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NotificationAreaTransition initiative. There is a Wishlist bug filed for the app-indicator support for tasque, namely Bug #518260. Should this bug be set to invalid?
