Bug Description

When running tasksel:

root@delan1:/# tasksel
tasksel: task ubuntustudio-audio-plugins contains a comma in its short description: "LADSPA, LV2, and DSSI audio plugins"
tasksel: task ubuntustudio-audio-plugins contains a comma in its short description: "LADSPA, LV2, and DSSI audio plugins"

Under "Kubuntu netbook", there are three items:

[ ] LADSPA
[ ] LV2
[ ] and DSSI audio plugins

(Note that this precise symptom is no longer present because it's been worked around, but the underlying bug is still there. --cjwatson)

Hello Delan
Is this in maverick?

affects: ubuntu → tasksel (Ubuntu)
Delan Azabani (azabani) wrote :

No, this is in natty only. In maverick it is "LADSPA and DSSI audio plugins" so there is no problem.

This is a tasksel bug with comma handling, but we're going to work around it in the task description.

summary: - tasksel description "LADSPA, LV2, and DSSI audio plugins" contains
- commas, breaking items onto multiple lines
+ tasksel breaks if short descriptions contain commas

In consultation with Scott Lavender, I've worked around this as follows:

tasksel (2.88ubuntu2) natty; urgency=low

  * Update Ubuntu tasks from seeds, adjusting ubuntustudio-audio-plugins'
short description to work around LP #690560. Thanks, Scott Lavender.

The fact that things break when you include a comma in a short task description is still a tasksel bug, so I'm leaving this bug open for that, but it's not urgent.

Changed in tasksel (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Triaged
