Bug Description

Binary package hint: debian-installer

While testing the 20080813 iso choosing the print-server task during installation won't install cups.

It may be related to the renaming of cupsys to cups in intrepid. Although the ubuntu.intrepid print-server seed, tasksel still refers to cupsys. However, "tasksel install print-server" works correctly when run from the command line once the system has been installed. Moreover cupsys-* packages are still provided as transitional package by the cups package in intrepid.

Do you still have that installation? Could you please attach the installer logs from it?

milestone: none → ubuntu-8.10-beta

This bug was fixed in the package tasksel - 2.73ubuntu6

tasksel (2.73ubuntu6) intrepid; urgency=low

  * Use ~xubuntu-dev branches for Xubuntu seeds.
  * Add ubuntu-tasks to revision control (despite being generated) to make
    it easier to review changes.
  * Fix uniquification of non-per-derivative seeds, thereby fixing the
    print-server task's Key field (LP: #257780).
