Task Coach not working in Ubuntu 18.04

Task Coach v1.4.3-6 will not launch from the menu shortcut in Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu MATE 18.04, and Kubuntu 18.04. Other flavors of Ubuntu haven't been tested by me.

Task Coach v1.4.3-6 will not launch from the command line in Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu MATE 18.04, and Kubuntu 18.04. Other flavors of Ubuntu haven't been tested by me with this output:

To reproduce this bug, click on the Task Coach shortcut in your menu or type taskcoach into a terminal window.

This is a known bug and has been fixed in Task Coach version 1.4.4. See this page for more details:

Please update this software to version 1.4.4 in Ubuntu and all its flavors.

I see that a fix has been released for Ubuntu 19.04 here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/taskcoach/+bug/1769701

Will there be a backport of that bug fix for Ubuntu 18.04?
