High scores not recorded

High scores are not recorded. It crossed my mind that in the latest release there may have been some permission issue so I ran 'gksu tali' to get a high score to see if that worked. It didn't

the problem is solved by changing permissions of the score files:
# chmod 666 /etc/games/tali.*
permissions on the original files forbade non-root users to record scores.

Ops, the right thing to do is
# chmod 666 /var/games/gtali.*
sorry for the mistake. ;)

I verified that the score files have 666 permissions, yet scores are still not recorded. Player names and other settings are saved, if that's a clue. I'm not sure where those are stored.

I'm using Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon.

This works with tali 1:3.38.0-1 available in Ubuntu 21.04.
