How is your network configured ?
You should probably be using static system-wide network definition (/etc/network/interfaces) if you want the network to be up in time for the NFS mounts (and network services) to start correctly... If you're using NetworkManager or any other session-related network-handling tool, then the network won't be up until at least someone logs in...

Thomas: I don't think it would work (at least not in all cases) as the network goes up only when the session is joined. At that point you should definitely avoid using network-manager if you want to mount filesystems at boot. The alternative would be to use gvfs network filesystem access from inside Gnome.
Could the other reporters confirm that they are also trying to mount network filesystems from a NetworkManager-managed network ? If so, I would close this as wontfix since it fails by design. |
