Bug Description

Binary package hint: initscripts

Hi,

My wife has a laptop with both vfat (windows) and Linux (ext3) partitions. After the latest upgrade, I noticed that it was quite slow to boot. On booting without splash & quiet, I saw that it was doing a dosfsck on the windows partitions, and taking a long time to do it.

Is that strictly necessary? It seems to slow things down quite a bit (20 seconds), and excluding vfat by using this line:

FSCKTYPES="ext2,ext3"

seems to speed things up some.

DISTRIB_RELEASE=7.10

Thanks,
Dave
