I've been running 15.04 happily for a few months, and suddenly I'm hit by this bug too. Presumably the 2015-05-21 fix has been broken by a subsequent upgrade?
I can't get to a GUI by waiting, nor by resuming in Advanced Mode. I don't know if I have sddm... probably not, since the "sudo systemctl enable sddm.service -f" fix didn't work. I'll try the "upstart-sysv" fix tonight.
