Bug Description

There seems to be a race condition between logind handling lid close and shutting down the system.

Since installing Ubuntu 13.10 I was closing the laptop lid after clicking shutdown, and sometimes when I came back the laptop was suspended (during the shutdown sequence) and not off.

After seeing this info: http://askubuntu.com/questions/360615/ubuntu-server-13-10-now-goes-to-sleep-when-closing-laptop-lid I neded up adding the HandleLidSwitch=ignore to logind's configuration and never saw this issue again.

Since this wasn't 100% reproducible I waited a while but since adding that option I had 3 months with no issues.

See also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/471457 , which talks of the same/similar issue, but the issue must be in logind and not gnome-power-manager (which is not running during the shutdown sequence).
