Bug Description

I'm running Karmic kernel 2.6.30-1 i686 on an old AMD Athlon 900MHz. If I go to System-Admin-Time and Date, I get 'The platform you are running is not supported by this tool' (see attached).

According to the drop-down--nothing Ubuntu ships newer than 8.04 is "supported"

The same happens when opening services-admin (System-->Administration-->Services).

Hmm, I don't think this is solely a clock-setup problem, as I get the same behavior with users and groups.

So--if more than Time & Date are affected---there must be a config that shows "supported" distros--Could this be a build farm issue?

affects: ubuntu → gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu)

I'm also getting this with services. I think it's pretty much certain to be a problem with gnome-system-tools now.

Is it worth running apport-collect now that the software has changed?

Dean Loros: clearly not a "build farm issue" - you can see the table right there in the system-tools-backends source package. (I'm confused as to why jaunty apparently didn't have this problem, given that people only seem to be reporting this with karmic and the system-tools-backends source is identical, but not my problem thankfully ...)

Thanks Colin---I was just wondering out loud--

On a "interesting" side-note....I was updating a Jaunty install on my laptop & saw a "distribution not supported" in the lower pane of Update Manager---gave me pause--it updated OK, but I was showing Jaunty to a co-worker & it caused a slightly uneasy moment.....
