Bug Description

This applies to gusty gibbon (fully updated) as of 2007-10-09.
I tried to share a dir, and without thinking named it "[share]", which froze the configuration GUI, and put a number of (empty) [[share]] stanzas in samba.conf.
So, maybe it would be a good idea for the GUI to check for invalid characters before applying the setting?

I can't open the configuration GUI until i remove those stanzas.

Never mind "I can't open the configuration GUI until i remove those stanzas."
I put in in the wrong position, it was supposed to be a comment... :)

It would be a good thing to redesign the Samba config GUI, more stable and more complete one, including the activation and the Samba user management. That is not the case at the moment, and as said upper, it is still a lot of problem for Ubuntu beginners, and more generally for Linux beginners.

Can we imagine something that would not be set as "Low" priority, as it is a important feature for a lot of standard user, wich are most often in a heterogeneous environment (Mac/Win/Lin) ??

If the developers want to redesign the GUI, I would like to help by making mock-ups.
